A UC Davis grad, Nelson became a news reporter like her father and mother before her. Writing for the Sacramento Bee, Santa Barbara News-Press, Tahoe Daily Tribune and others, Nelson (nee Glessing) appreciated the fast-paced and always different world of journalism. She left media for an interesting post in philanthropy, assisting Andy and Eva Grove with the start-up of the Grove Foundation. The foundation grew from $1.3M to $7M budget when Nelson was director of programs. It was such a great job! Erica LOVED that job.
